Write a good title, give a better talk (an interactive workshop)
The most important thing you can do to attract an audience is to write a good title for your talks and papers. Good titles attract attention. Attention is the currency that promotes your work.

The best titles communicate your main result in clear, easy to understand language. A good title helps you write a good abstract. A good abstract helps you give a good talk.

The audience wants to know what you found. They want to know what is new. A focused title and good abstract will draw a bigger audience because they will know what to expect from your talk. They will know your main point and will be eager to learn more about your research.

This workshop will focus on writing good titles. Thought it is too late to change the official title of your talk, you can include a revised title on your first slide as an introduction to your main result. The workshop begins with some background and examples. You will then work in groups to write titles for some abstracts from Nature.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to present clear, easily understood technical talks. Please come prepared for active participation. This is not a webinar.
