Nonprofit careers for ecologists - Ecologists and Trends in the Private Sector and Markets: Natural capital trends and overview
Working for a nonprofit or nongovernmental organization (NGO) is a viable option for ecologists. Many serve as boundary organizations that apply ecological knowledge to real world applications. NGOs usually are mission driven with staff experts working to fulfill the mission.

Certified Ecologist Gabriel Thoumi, CFA, FRM, will share his career path and lead a discussion of trends at the intersection between ecological science and natural capital and the capital markets. Focus will be on recent private sector case studies and how markets are increasingly interested in dialoguing and working with ecologists. Gabriel will also highlight industry-leading work that supports capital markets alignment with planetary boundaries. The informal event will employ a discussion format with audience participation engagement. Questions will be encouraged and dialogue will be informative.
