The events of the past week has cast into sharp relief many issues around race and ethnicity in our wounded nation. ESA will hold this time and space for anyone who would like to join, share reflections, or just listen. Perhaps you have been making progress in your own workplaces to acknowledge diversity, inclusion, equity and justice. Perhaps as a member of an underrepresented group you want to share your experiences. Perhaps you are a minority student or mentor doing field research this summer in an unfamiliar and potentially hostile community. Maybe you or your colleagues are experiencing anger, fear, confusion. We also hope to collect useful resources on ways that our community might initiate or engage in conversations on race and ethnicity during these difficult times. Join in the conversation or just know someone cares. We ask anyone who decides to participate to be fully present and ready to share your own reflections and/or to actively listen with empathy for the reflections of colleagues.
